Second whole school performance project announced

1 May 2018

Following the success of our ‘Dancers in Residence’ project with William Patten Primary School in January 2018 we were thrilled to be approached by London Fields Primary School to work together and collaborate on another wonderful and wonderfully ambitious whole school project.

William Patten Primary School workshop

This project will be led by New Adventures dance artists Gavin Eden and Shelby Williams. They will work with the pupils at London Fields from Nursery right up to Year 6 over a six week period to create a brand new dance piece. Devised especially for the school the piece is inspired by the West African and Caribbean Folklore of the Anansi stories. The project will culminate in a performance at Hackney Empire in July 2018, with an invited audience of family, friends and guests with each class performing a section of the story!

Imogen Kinchin, Executive Director of New Adventures said, “We are delighted to be bringing another whole school project to a second school, following the success of our work at William Patten. At New Adventures we take pride in nurturing the next generation of talent, and to introduce dance to hundreds of young people at once is such a rewarding experience for all involved. We look forward to seeing London Fields' performance in July!”
