Every year New Adventures delivers workshops and performances for thousands of people at Summer Festivals across England.
In 2017 1,200 people took part in our inclusive workshops for all ages, that got people moving and being creative, and we performed an adaptation of Country from Matthew Bourne's Town and Country to over 2,000 people! Building on this in 2018, we delivered workshops and an excerpt from Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake to thousands of festival-goers ahead of our major UK tour.
Wathamstow Garden Party
Lloyd Part, E17, 13 July 2019
We visited Walthamstow Garden Party in London for the first time with a free workshop open to all ages and abilities based on Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker!
Nutcracker! follows Clara’s bittersweet journey from a hilariously bleak Christmas Eve at Dr. Dross’ Orphanage for Waifs and Strays, through a shimmering, ice-skating, winter wonderland to the scrumptious candy kingdom of Sweetieland.
Walthamstow Garden Party is a free two day global festival made locally, celebrating and powered by the incredible creativity of Waltham Forest, London’s first Borough of Culture.
Dance in the Meadow 2019
Gostrey Meadow, Farnham, 14 July
Dance in the Meadow is a community performance and participatory one-day outdoor dance festival that takes place at Gostrey Meadow, Farnham. Dance in the Meadow 2019 took on Sunday 14 July (1-5pm).
Dance in the Meadow is a means of celebrating all of the wonderful dance that happens in and around Farnham; last year approximately 1000 people brought a picnic blanket and settled down in Gostrey Meadow to watch some truly brilliant dance. This year saw performances from our over 55s group Next Adventures who meet weekly at the Maltings and a wide range of workshops, including one from us based on Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker!
Suffolk, 19 July 2019
We were delighted to return to Latitude Festival with a Nutcracker! workshop for all the family, hot off the heels of our performance last year of an excerpt from Matthew Bourne’s legendary production of Swan Lake.
Latitude Festival is an annual arts festival that takes place in Henham Park, near Southwold, Suffolk. It was first held in July 2006 and has since won the UK Festival Awards ‘Line Up of the Year’ award in 2013 and 2015, as well as 'Best Major Festival' in 2017.
