An immersive New Adventures experience
New Adventures offers a unique, two-day opportunity to step 'In Our Shoes' and experience first-hand what it is like to be part of our company.
Day One: The Dancer on Stage
Explore movement and themes from our current show on tour through a workshop led by New Adventures dancers and create a piece of choreography inspired by the show.
Day Two: The Dancer on Stage
See the theatre through the dancers' eyes with a backstage tour and then perform the choreography created on Day One to the company on the very same stage they will dance on. The day then finishes with a Q&A with a company member.
This is a bespoke experience delivered based on the group involved.
During our tour of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake we have delivered two In Our Shoes experiences for 29 participants in Bradford and Nottingham. The project in Bradford was led by New Adventures Dance Artists Daisy May Kemp and Luke Murphy with students learning English as a second language from Bradford College.
The project in Nottingham was delivered again by Daisy with Project Manager and Resident Practitioner Paul Smethurst. This was the third time we worked with students with special educational needs and disabilities from Oaks Field School. Both groups were then able to watch the show for free as part of our audience development allocation of tickets.
We are due to also work with dance students from Northern Academy of Performing Arts in Hull in April 2019.
