In 2016 Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures became a resident company at Farnham Maltings in Surrey.
Farnham Maltings is a cultural organisation, based in south west Surrey, that exists to encourage the people of Farnham and further afield to participate in, shape and understand the world in which we live.
Below are upcoming projects that we’re delivering in collaboration with Farnham Maltings and other resident companies based there:
Dance in the Meadow is a community performance and participatory one-day outdoor dance festival that takes place at Gostrey Meadow, Farnham. Dance in the Meadow 2019 will take place on Sunday 14 July (1-5pm) and we are looking for local and county-wide dance groups to come and perform!
We are looking for youth, community, schools and private dance school groups/companies of all ages between 3 years and 80 years + to take part in the day. If your group or company is interested in performing you will be asked to complete an application form and submit film footage / a weblink of your work.

The Next Adventure
Last year we formed ‘My Shout’, a dance group for over 55s who went on to perform at venues including Woking’s New Victoria Theatre before our performance of Cinderella; Farnham Maltings and Gostrey Meadow. Building on this exciting experience, we have formed a new group following a series of taster sessions. Our Next Adventure company of over 55s are meeting weekly at Farnham Maltings with our dance artists to create a piece that will be performed at upcoming events in Farnham such as Dance in the Meadow.
More info to follow soon.
My Shout Participant
We are pleased to offer inclusive workshops for over 55s at Farnham Maltings. Get your bodies moving and learn repertoire from Bourne’s award-winning collection of work.
The workshops begin with a warm up to mobilise your joints and stretch your muscles and then you will have the chance to learn choreography from our repertoire. This is followed by creative tasks where you will make your own movement based on the choreography learnt. These workshops are open to all levels of ability and mobility.
Dates: 15 May, 12 June, 17 July
Time: 2pm - 4pm
Cost: £8 per session
