In 2016 Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures became a resident company at Farnham Maltings in Surrey.
Farnham Maltings is a cultural organisation, based in south west Surrey, that exists to encourage the people of Farnham and further afield to participate in, shape and understand the world in which we live.
Below are upcoming projects that we deliver at Farnham Maltings:

Dance in the Meadow is a community performance and participatory one-day outdoor dance festival that takes place at Gostrey Meadow, Farnham. Dance in the Meadow 2019 will take place on Sunday 14 July (1-5pm).
Dance in the Meadow is a means of celebrating all of the wonderful dance that happens in and around Farnham; last year approximately 1000 people brought a picnic blanket and settled down in Gostrey Meadow to watch some truly brilliant dance. This year will see performances from local dance groups, including our over 55s group Next Adventures who meet weekly at the Maltings; professional performances from Stopgap Dance Company and a wide range of workshops. Join us and take part in a workshop based on Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker! led by New Adventures dance artists and delve into our classic production and signature story-telling style.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Last year we formed ‘My Shout’, a dance group for over 55s who went on to perform at venues including Woking’s New Victoria Theatre before our performance of Cinderella. Building on this exciting experience, we have formed a new group. Our Next Adventures company of over 55s meet weekly at Farnham Maltings with our dance artists and are creating a piece that will be performed at upcoming events in Farnham such as Dance in the Meadow.

My Shout Participant
We are pleased to offer inclusive workshops for over 55s at Farnham Maltings. Get your bodies moving and learn repertoire from Bourne’s award-winning collection of work.
The workshops begin with a warm up to mobilise your joints and stretch your muscles and then you will have the chance to learn choreography from our repertoire. This is followed by creative tasks where you will make your own movement based on the choreography learnt. These workshops are open to all levels of ability and mobility.
