Since 2016 we have delivered three whole school performance projects where every child has been involved in creating their own dance piece using New Adventures' unique storytelling style.
During each project two New Adventures Dance Artists has visited each school over a six week period, working with every class once a week. The projects have then culminated in a performance to an audience of over 1000 family, friends and guests. Our inaugural project saw over 400 pupils from William Patten Primary School perform their own version of Matthew Bourne's Cinderella at Sadler's Wells in January 2018.
We were then approached by London Fields Primary School to devise a brand new dance piece inspired by the West African and Caribbean Folklore of the Anansi Stories. 480 pupils then performed their work on the main stage at Hackney Empire in July 2018.
We most recently worked with Roger Ascham Primary School, where Matthew Bourne attended as a child, to create their own version of Bourne's Nutcracker! which was performed in March 2019 at Walthamstow's Assembly Hall as part of Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019.
