Overture 2021-22 Cohort

Tom Withington is a Norwich-Based Dance Artist whose journey with dance began at The CAT scheme at DanceEast, Ipswich. At 16 Tom took part in the Swan Lake company class at Sadler’s Wells as part of an outreach project. This is where his love for dance and performance was inspired, and his understanding of the importance of outreach and community dance practice grew. Tom trained at London Contemporary Dance School and Middlesex University before graduating with an MA from Trinity Laban with Distinction in Dance Performance (Transitions Dance Company 2020). As part of Transitions Dance Company Tom toured various cities and worked with choreographers; Cameron Mcmillan, Elisa Pagani and H2Dance.  Tom has performed and taught in Europe, London and the East of England. He is currently leading his own sessions across Norfolk, connecting rural and coastal communities with dance. Tom is currently a sessional lecturer at City College, Norwich, and would like to develop his teaching practice to support his work in the community, and within education.
