Simon’s first professional job was as Company Administrator for Kay Mellor’s Yorkshire Theatre Company. Having worked for other community and small-scale theatre projects he joined Matthew Bourne’s original company Adventures in Motion Pictures as an Administrator in 1992 before becoming its first Company Manager for the premiere of Swan Lake at Sadler’s Wells in December 1995 and UK tour the following year. Productions that he has been Company Manager with, most when they were created, include Highland Fling, Cinderella, The Car Man, Nutcracker!, Play Without Words, Edward Scissorhands, Dorian Gray, Sleeping Beauty, Lord of The Flies, The Red Shoes, Romeo & Juliet and, now, The Midnight Bell.

Simon feels privileged to have toured with many of these productions around the globe, taking in Australia, Canada, China, much of Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Russia, Singapore, South Korea and the USA from coast to coast and north to south. Highlights have been the Sydney Opera House and the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC but he considers Los Angeles and the Ahmanson Theatre his second professional home having visited there for extended seasons on numerous occasions.

Simon served as a trustee of New Adventures for five years.
