Ruth Johnson
Ruth is a dance artist based in Yorkshire. She trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, then Chichester University and has BA (Hons) in Dance and QTLS. Ruth has performed and choreographed both in the UK and Europe.
Ruth runs community dance organisation, Union of Dance, offering classes, projects, and educational experiences. She offers somewhere for everyone to dance, regardless of age, experience, or previous opportunity. The aim is to positively impact others and to provide a safe and nurturing environment where individualism and creativity is encouraged. She’s a freelance practitioner and works for organisations including Phoenix Dance Theatre, Leeds Playhouse, Yorkshire Dance, and projects supported by Arts Council England.
