For New Adventures Rowland has orchestrated Town And Country, Nutcracker! and Swan Lake and composed an original score for the BBC2 ballet Drip. Rowland has created many varied orchestrations of ballets for international dance companies including The Birmingham Royal Ballet, The Royal Ballet of the Netherlands, Ballet Jorgen, The Atlanta Ballet and the Washington Ballet's 2014 production of Swan Lake with Misty Copeland.
He has arranged and orchestrated many shows and albums including Over My Shoulder and Robert Sherman's Bumblescratch and A Spoonful of Sherman. Some of his concert music is published by Edition Peters, including his Requiem, composed for Dame Sarah Connolly. The choral anthem We Will Remember Them has received multiple performances by various ensembles in the past year at venues as diverse as the Scottish Parliament and NATO headquarters in Brussels.
Among his 700-plus Television credits as composer, he is probably best known for the children's series Cloudbabies and 64 Zoo Lane, though he also orchestrated most of the recent and forthcoming series of Endeavour. Rowland was a judge for this year's Ivor Novello Awards and is a winner of the British Film Institute's Anthony Asquith Award.
