Kieran Curtin

Overture 2024/2025 cohort

My name is Kieran Curtin, originally from Cambridgeshire but currently living and working in East London.

Firstly I want to take the time to thank you for excepting me into this course. I’m really excited to get involved and meet everyone.

I’d like to share my background, I started to dance at age seven at my Mothers dance school in a small village called Buckden and found a deep passion for the love of ballet. I found the escape that I needed out of school as I am quite dyslexic and found being in school such a hard process. I went onto further training at The Royal Ballet School for Associates and White Lodge. After 10 years of this and at the age of 15 I made the decision to come out and change my path, I then went the The Urdang Academy to study other styles of dance, Musical Theatre and acting. After graduating from Urdang I have been lucky enough to work commercially on Artist tours, TV, Film, Music Videos and Commercials.

Going forward as a creative, my goals are far and wide. I want to dive into movement direction for artists/fashion campaigns, build on my choreography and directorship roles to create films within magazines/online profiles and the biggest one for me is to give other amazing dancers opportunities for work.
