Kashmira Sunni

Overture 2020/21 Cohort

Kashmira’s training began at the  age of 3, with Bharatnatyam, Indian Folk, Ballet, Kathak and Drama, and by 17, she was choreographing solo/group performances from Guildhall to Wembley.

Her work breaks the mould with atypical interpretations of music, and fusions of contrasting, international dance styles. A week after graduating in Psychology, Kashmira landed a role in her first Bollywood Film. This took her to India where she worked for several years as an Actor & Choreographer in TV and Film.

On returning to London, she founded performing arts company ‘KASHAK Arts’ which she now runs alongside a career in the NHS. The company has performed, by invitation, for dignitaries such as the Prime Minister of India - Narendra Modi, while also being involved in large-scale community events such as RISE for BRENT 2020, for which Kashmira was a Community Cast Dance Lead.

She now passionately promotes dance for mental health.
