His current work includes: Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre, Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, Mamma Mia! in London, Broadway, Las Vegas, Hamburg, Japan, Stockholm, Australia and US tour, Rebecca on tour in the UK and Heroes at the Wyndhams Theatre.

His work in the West End includes: Suddenly Last Summer at the Albery, Oleanna at the Garrick, The Master Builder at the Albery, Ragtime at the Piccadilly, The Witches of Eastwick at Drury Lane/Prince of Wales, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Lyric. On Broadway his work includes Putting it Together and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

His Opera and Dance work includes Il Trovatore, Aida, I Masnadieri and Otello for the Royal Opera, Beatrice and Benedict and Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci for Welsh National Opera and Opera Australia, Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet for English National Ballet, Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker! at Sadlers Wells, Albert Herring for Opera North, The Elixir of Love for English National Opera and The Makropulos Case and Nabucco for the Metropolitan Opera, New York.

Howard has been nominated 6 times as Best Lighting Designer in the Laurence Olivier Awards and was the recipient of the 2001 Australian Green Room Award for his work on Mamma Mia!.
