Christopher Tendai
Overture 2021-22 Cohort
Christopher Tendai graduated from Urdang Academy with a BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre in 2014. Since then, he has worked professionally on the West End (Hamilton, West Side Story and Carousel) and commercially (Fleur East, Rita Ora, Strictly Come Dancing). Christopher has always had a love for choreography and created his own company: CTC Dance Company in 2017. The Company has performed on West End stages, danced in music videos and developed their own unique projects. "In my opinion I feel that ‘narrative’ is the fundamental aspect of creating powerful movement. I like to integrate different dance styles such as: contemporary, jazz, ballet, Afrobeat and physical theatre. I always like to ask myself the question ‘Why’ and allow the relevance of movement to blend with the use of dynamics which, I believe, heightens the work.”
