Chloe Smith

Overture 2024/2025 cohort

Chloe is a freelance community dance artist based in West Yorkshire. At the age of 16 she joined the Centre for Advanced Training scheme at DanceEast. She then went on to complete her BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Dance at Northern School of Contemporary Dance graduating in 2023.

Chloe has worked for several organisations across Yorkshire including Yorkshire Dance, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Mind the Gap, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Leeds Playhouse in a variety of roles including Saturday School Coordinator, Dance Teacher, Support Worker and Class Assistant. She was also Creative Learning and Engagement Coordinator for Leeds 2023 Year of Culture. She has experience working with all age groups predominantly working with Disabled and Neurodiverse communities. Her practice promotes access and inclusion with a strong sense of celebration for the individuals that she works with.

Chloe is very excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the 24/25 Overture cohort. She is always looking for ways to develop her practice and can’t wait to meet the group to expand her network and to learn from others.
