Overview
Charlotte trained at The Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet School. After Graduating, she joined Northern Ballet Theatre under Christopher Gable’s direction, becoming a Principal Artist and dancing roles such as Carmen, Giselle, Cinderella, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake and Kitri in Don Quixote.
In 2000, Charlotte joined Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm and danced the role of Aurora in Mats Ek’s Sleeping Beauty. She also performed in Mats Ek’s She Was Black, A Sort Of, Fluke and Swan Lake. Work with other choreographers include: Vara by Ohad Naharin, Sore Core by Stijn Celis and Fallen Angels by Jiri Kylian.
Charlotte retuned to London in 2005, where she became a freelance artist, performing in Cathy Marston’s Ghosts, Traces & Dust, Will Tuckett’s Wind In The Willows, Pinocchio & Thief Of Baghdad, Javier De Frutos’ The Most Incredible Thing, Luca Silvestrini’s The Ride and LOL, The Queen in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, & The Bad Angel in Dr Faustus at The Shakespeare’s Globe, directed by Matthew Dunster.
In 2012, Charlotte Co-founded HeadSpaceDance with Christopher Akrill. They co-produced, together with The Royal Opera House ; Three & Four Quaters, and If Play is Play. They commosioned choreographers ; Luca Silvestrini, Mats Ek, Didy Veldman, Javier De Futos & director Matthew Dunster. In 2016, HeadSpaceDance collaborated with Arthur Pita for Stepmother/Stepfather. In 2018, HeadSpaceDance won The Critic circle National Dance Award for Best Independent Company.
Since 2012, Charlotte has also worked as a movement director & Choreographer. Her credits include; Comedy Of Errors at RSC, Midsummer Nights Dream at Regents Park Open Air Theatre, Home I’m Darling in the West End & National Theatre, Nell Gwynn in the West End & The Shakespeare’s Globe, Oedipus at Bunkamura Tokyo.
