Alex Garland

Alex is a 24-year-old freelance dance artist, born in East Yorkshire and based in Leeds. She trained at the University of Roehampton, including a semester abroad at Goucher College (Baltimore, M.D), and graduated in 2019. Following this, she joined Jasmin Vardimon’s JV2 company and has recently toured with their production of ‘ALiCE VR’.
Alongside performing, Alex’s interests are deeply rooted within the community sector. With Yorkshire Dance, she teaches regularly to a range of groups including older adults, people with dementia and additional needs, and young people. After working creatively in Paris, Baltimore and Marrakesh, she aims to further combine her passions for dance and travel and hopes to set up sustainable projects globally in the future.
