On Sunday 10 March Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella gave its final performance of its epic tour from 2017-2019.
The show has given 283 performances, in 24 theatres, across 4 countries to over 360,000 people. Matthew Bourne's Cinderella opened at Sadler’s Wells in 2017 for New Adventures' 16th Christmas Season from 9 Dec 2017 - 27 Jan 2018, followed by a major UK and International Tour, across Asia and the US, finishing with a 5-week season at our second home at Center Theatre Group’s Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. The show also had its Japanese premiere at the Tokyu Theatre Orb on 3 October 2018.
A dazzling spectacle. Fresh and vital, hilarious, profound and stunningly original. Bourne's incomparable theatrical flair adds up to a compelling entertainment.

Involving 27 dancers and 80 off stage and backstage workers we were warmly welcomed at every stop on the tour. This award-winning production was nominated for two awards in its recent incarnation: Ashley Shaw for Outstanding Female Modern Performance (National Dance Awards 2018) in the title role of ‘Cinderella’ and the show is a finalist in the What’s On Readers’ Awards 2019 for Best Dance Production.
A truly outstanding company

Cinderella was also broadcast on BBC 2 on Boxing Day 2017 and then made available on iPlayer – it was watched by 429,600 people. It was then shown in 480 cinemas in 17 countries around the world and seen by 18,475 people.
Accompanying the tour, we delivered over 50 workshops, organised 9 curtain raisers, 2 In Our Shoes experiences and engaged with thousands of people. In January 2018 our first Dancers in Residence project with William Patten Primary School culminated in the whole school performing their own version of Cinderella to a full house at Sadler’s Wells. And not to forget our Cinderella: A Museum Adventure in partnership with the Imperial War Museum which saw three bespoke dance works created and performed at their sites in London, Manchester and Duxford and attended by 2,298 people.
Our engagement activity culminated in Los Angeles with 12 state high schools and some special schools with one-off workshops based on the show. 228 young people took part and entered the world of Cinderella. Then on 13 February 39 schools joined us for a schools’ matinee performance at the Ahmanson attended by 1,408 students and educators. Rounding off our stateside educational activity on 17 young people from LA Academy for Arts and Enterprise got to step 'In Our Shoes'.
