On Sunday 11 June Farnham Town Council hosted the first Dance in the Meadow, presented by Farnham Maltings and The Dance Movement, which builds on the success of introducing dance at last year's Music in the Meadow programme.
As part of our continued work at Farnham Maltings, and as a resident company there, we collaborated with The Dance Movement to work with a group of young people, who created a response piece to our latest award-winning production The Red Shoes. This performance opened Dance in the Meadow and we were very proud of the young people who took part!
Hundreds joined us throughout the day and were treated to performances from more than 10 dance schools and groups. Many also took part in a Swan Lake workshop led by New Adventures & Re:Bourne dance artists Alan Vincent and Sophia Hurdley. Resident Artist, Kerry Biggin and Project Manager for Re:Bourne, Paul Smethurst oversaw our activity at Dance in the Meadow and Paul compered the event!
