The winners of the 22nd National Dance Awards, including performances from January to December 2021, were announced at the Barbican on 13 June, 2022. The event was hosted by Begoñia Cao and Giorgio Garrett, former principal and present artist with English National Ballet respectively.

Over the course of the awards ceremony 15 winners were announced from 70 nominations. New Adventures and members of the company had been nominated 7 times.

We are so thrilled to have picked up 2 awards this year:

'Best Modern Choreography'
The Midnight Bell

'Outstanding Female Modern Performance'
Michela Meazza
for her portrayal of Miss Roach in The Midnight Bell.

Writing on her Instagram page about her win, Michela Meazza said:
"Very Special day yesterday at the National Dance Awards: Outstanding Female Modern Performance for Miss Roach in the Midnight Bell and Best Choreography for Matthew Bourne and Company. It was so nice to celebrate our art form with so many incredible artists! Thank you everyone for all the support and love!"

Sir Matthew Bourne invited the full company of The Midnight Bell to the stage to celebrate the win.

Huge congratulations to all nominees and winners, celebrating a return to the stage after a very difficult year.
