BBC Arts announces the line up for dance festival
A celebration of the UK's flouring dance scene in collaboration with One Dance UK
We're very excited to share our involvement in the week long festival with an exclusive look into our World Premiere of Romeo and Juliet, which is currently in rehearsals and opens at The Curve, Leicester on 13 May 2019, touring to 13 theatres. 80 of Britain’s brightest young dance talent will be making their debut with New Adventures and perform alongside the company at venues throughout the UK.
Running across television, radio and online on the BBC from Sunday 31 March to Saturday 6 April #DancePassion will pull together rehearsals and insights from some of the country’s leading practitioners including Viviana Durante Company, Akram Khan Company, National Dance Company Wales, Company Wayne McGregor and Rosie Kay Dance Company.
Our taster documentary that features a focus on Lewis Baker from the Birmingham Young Cast will go live on Tuesday 2 April on our website and bbc.co.uk/dance
Stay tuned throughout the week for a plethora of compelling dance stories!
#DancePassion is for audiences who love dance as well as for those who don’t yet know they love dance. Whether it’s ballet, bhangra or ballroom this week aims to get the whole nation onto its feet in a celebration of dance.
