A unique opportunity for those aged 14-19 years old, to dance with leading New Adventures dance artists and explore movement from World Premiere tour of Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet – a passionate and contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic love story. Bursting with youth, vitality and Matthew Bourne’s trademark storytelling.
Join us on 11 August 2019 at Sadler’s Wells to explore, create and express yourselves in a fun, relaxed and friendly environment.
This workshop is open to young dancers at a beginners level. You don’t need to have much experience to take part in this workshop but some experience is encouraged. This is the perfect chance for you to spend time with other dancers and experience what it is like to create material for our shows and learn some of the choreography.
This three-hour workshop will involve getting your bodies moving with a warm-up, games, technique class, learning repertoire from the show and creative tasks to give an insight into how the company works during rehearsals to create storytelling through movement. The workshop will end with a Q&A to ask the dancers what it's like to perform in New Adventures!
Places are strictly limited to 30 to ensure an intimate experience for all participants.
New Adventures is committed to ensuring our workshops are accessible to people of all backgrounds. Subsidised places are available at each workshop for those who would otherwise find the price prohibitive to access. If you would like to apply for a subsidised place please write to us in confidence at firstname.lastname@example.org explaining why you would like to receive a subsidised place by 15th July, with the subject line ‘Romeo and Juliet Open Workshop’. All applicants will have their applications considered and the management's decision is final. If you have any other access needs please let us know.
