Cygnet School Sharing 2024

Friday 26 July 2024, 3.15pm
The Studio, Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury

Thank you for joining us to celebrate the end of Cygnet School’s third year, in residence at Marlowe Theatre. Our Cygnets have been working with New Adventures for another year, meeting at Marlowe Theatre one Sunday a month to develop their dance training and they are excited to share their performance with you all.

Having watched and studied Matthew Bourne’s Edward Scissorhandsearlier in the year, the Cygnets will perform a short piece based on the four acts within the production, as well as showcasing a snippet of what they have been delving into during their monthly workshop sessions; focusing on technique, character, musicality and expression.

Thank you to all the family and friends who have supported the Cygnets throughout the year, as well as the past and present Cygnet School Team. A shout out to our creative contributors who have delivered sessions in 2023-24; Chris Benstead, Crystal Nicholls, Nicole Kabera, Peter Polycarpou, Sam Archer, Simon Black and Jasmin Vardimon Company. A special thank you to The Dorfman Foundation, The Mackintosh Foundation and The Noel Coward Foundation for funding the programme, to Marlowe Theatre for hosting Cygnet School, and to Angela and the students at Canterbury Christ Church University for their support and evaluation of the programme.

We hope you enjoy! Refreshments to follow in Barrett’s bar.
