New Adventures & Re:Bourne are pleased to announce a new project with right2dance, a charitable organisation that provides a high quality programme of dance classes for all ages and abilities in Renfrewshire, in Paisley, Scotland. Established in 1973 the company has been at the heart of fun and creativity within Renfrewshire, catering for the absolute beginner to the aspiring professional, with a belief that everyone has the 'right2dance'.

This year New Adventures & Re:Bourne dance artists have been delivering a range of activities for right2dance to establish a new dance opportunity within Paisley that is free for local young people to attend. This project is in support of right2dance’s successful application to the Paisley 2021 Culture, Events and Heritage fund, which is an important component in the development of Paisley’s bid to be the UK City of Culture in 2021.

On 17/18 October 2016 we led two days of dance for young people, one for right2dance’s Youth Company Dancers and one for those new to dance. These days finished with a continuing professional development (CPD) session for their staff and ambassadors. On 17 - 21 July 2017 we returned to Paisley to lead a week-long residency with right2dance’s young people that culminated in a final performance of their work.

Working with the right2dance ambassadors in the CPD sessions we will support them in completing their Bronze Arts Award qualification, highlighting our commitment to being an Arts Award Supporter.

James Mackenzie-Blackman, Executive Director for New Adventures & Re:Bourne says,
"We’re delighted to be bringing high-quality dance experiences to young people in Paisley. We’re committed to bringing the work of Matthew Bourne to as many young people as possible across the country and delivering accessible and top-quality workshops."
