In Collaboration with Farnham Maltings
In 2016 Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures & Re:Bourne became a resident company at Farnham Maltings in Surrey. Farnham Maltings is a cultural organisation, based in south west Surrey, that exists to encourage the people of Farnham and further afield to participate in, shape and understand the world in which we live.
Below you will find upcoming projects that we’re delivering in collaboration with Farnham Maltings and other resident companies based there:
We are pleased to offer a series of inclusive workshops for over 55s at Farnham Maltings. Get your bodies moving and learn some repertoire from Bourne’s award-winning collection of work.
The workshops will start with a warm up to mobilise your joints and stretch your muscles and then you will learn some choreography from the New Adventures repertoire. This will be followed by creative tasks where you will get the chance to make your own movement based on the repertoire learnt. These workshops are open to all levels of ability and mobility.
Dates: 6 Sept, 11 Oct, 22 Nov
Cost: £8 per session, click here to be directed to Farnham Maltings' Event Listings page to find the date for you and to book your space
My Shout is a new project at Farnham Maltings about celebrating age and challenging stereotypes of what it means to grow old in England. It aims to present a vibrant and surprising alternative by enabling elders from our community to create art that has integrity, resonance and perhaps a touch of mischief.
People from Farnham and the surrounding areas, aged 55+, will be involved in four new projects which will each, in their own way, portray a dynamic alternative to the all-too-common dreary misconceptions of ageing. As part of the four projects we will be facilitating the creation of a dance piece to be performed by a group of people from Farnham and the surrounding area.
