National Dance Awards 2017

19 February 2018

New Adventures were delighted to attend the National Dance Awards 2017 at the Barbican on 19 February 2018. This year's awards were a very special occasion as Matthew Bourne's production of The Red Shoes was up for two awards.

Please join us in congratulating ASHLEY SHAW who won the Outstanding Female Performance (Modern) category for her role as Vicky Page in The Red Shoes. Ashleys’ win marks the second time a New Adventures dancer has won the Outstanding Female Performance (Modern) award in the past three years following Zizi Strallen’s win for The Car Man. MATTHEW BOURNE was also nominated for Best Modern Choreography for our production.

We are also very happy to share that our Associate Artist and Set/Costume Designer for many of our productions, LEZ BROTHERSTON was awarded the De Valois Award for Outstanding Achievement and became the first designer to win a National Dance Award.

To mark today's celebrations have a watch of our new showreel below, which includes highlights from many of our productions and features Lez at the end.

Congratulations to our colleagues and friends who were nominated and won awards at this year's National Dance Awards.
