Kate Lyons grew up in Southampton, attending Brockenhurst College, Emjay School of Dance and Central School of Ballet, London. During her training, Kate was coached by Mark Baldwin and competed as the British Representative at the European Young Dancer of the Year Competition in Amsterdam.
Since graduating, Kate has performed with various companies and choreographers including: Ballet West (Utah, USA); Mainfranken Theater Würzburg in Germany; English National Ballet (Royal Albert Hall); National Dance Company Wales (Plunge Apprentice); DV8 Physical Theatre (Living Costs at the Tate Modern); Aletta Collins (Aida for ENO); Rupert Goold (Turandot for ENO); Martin Creed; Wayne McGregor's DanceLines; Glyndebourne Opera and Philharmonie Luxembourg.
TV credits: Fin Walker for Outsider TV, Foxes music video, Matthew Bourne's Christmas, Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty, and Rita in Matthew Bourne's The Car Man.
Stage credits for New Adventures since 2010: Cinderella (Judy and Flora); Nutcracker! (Marshmallow); Early Adventures (Town and Country, and The Infernal Gallop); Sleeping Beauty (Ardor & Hibernia Fairies, cover Aurora); Swan Lake (French and Spanish Princess), and The Car Man (Rita and Gina).
Kate is a workshop leader for New Adventures & Re:Bourne, as well as a support worker and movement workshop leader for people with visual impairment.
