From Nelson Bay, Australia, Ashley began dancing at the age of three. She trained in classical ballet, contemporary and jazz at the Marie Walton-Mahon Dance Academy in Newcastle, where she studied full-time for two years. At 15, she was awarded her Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal and competed as a semi-finalist in the International Genée Competition held in Athens, Greece. In 2005, she moved to England to attend the Elmhurst Ballet School in association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. She graduated in 2008 with a Diploma of Dance. She then spent two years dancing in various shows on cruise ships around the world with Royal Caribbean Productions, based in Hollywood, Florida.
Ashley was Dancing Times magazine Dancer of the Month February 2016.
For New Adventures, Ashley debuted in Swan Lake (2009/10) quickly followed up by the UK & International tour of Cinderella (2010/11) where she danced the title role; following that she played Princess Sugar in the 20th Anniversary tour of Nutcracker! (2011/2012) and co-created the role of Aurora in the world premiere of Sleeping Beauty (2012/13) - a role she recently revisited in the 2015/16 UK & International tour. Ashley has also performed the lead roles of Kim Boggs in Edward Scissorhands (2014/15) and Lana in The Car Man (2015). Film credits include Matthew Bourne’s Christmas and Sleeping Beauty. She is extremely excited and honoured to be creating the role of Vicky Page in this original production of The Red Shoes.
